Muhammadiyahmenurutnya memiliki semangat Al-Ma'un, semangat kebaikan sebagaimana dalam al-Qur'an Surat Al-Israa [17] ayat 7. Kebaikan yang kita lakukan akan kembali kepada diri kita sendiri. Demikian hal itu disampaikan Haedar pada pengajian rutin Pengurus Cabang Muhammadiyah (PCM) Minggir, Sleman, Yogyakarta, pada Minggu (28/7). Ya sebab Allah tidak membutuhkan amalan-amalan baik tersebut. Yang membutuhkannya adalah diri kita sendiri. Ketikakita berbuat kebaikan secara tulus, maka kebaikan itu akan kembali lagi kepada kita dari jalan yang tidak diduga-duga. Pada video tersebut terlihat bagaimana orang dengan senang hati dan tanpa pamrih membantu orang yang terkena musibah atau sedang kesusahan. Bagaimana kebaikan itu terus "menular" dan menjadi rantai dari satu orang kepada Hatiadalah tempat Allah memandang. Pepatah ini menuntun kita untuk terus berbuat kebaikan di setiap kesempatan. Sebab, balasan dari baik atau buruknya setiap perbuatan pasti akan kembali kepada pelakunya. Dengan alasan yang sama, berbuat baik, terutama berbagi kebaikan kepada sesama manusia selalu terasa menyenangkan. Dalam siklus saling memberi dan menerima, ada sebuah prinsip penting untuk diterapkan dalam berbuat kebaikan, yakni give and forget atau memberi dan melupakan. Disadari atau tidak, prinsip inilah yang membuat hati kita lebih ringan dan menjaga ketulusan dalam berbagi kebaikan. Karenanya, mari memulai prinsip give and forget dengan mengingat hal-hal berikut agar kita semakin mantap dalam berbuat kebaikan. Kebaikan akan kembali kepada siapa yang melakukannya dengan berbagai cara Tak perlu merasa kecewa, jika kita telah berbuat baik kepada seseorang dan dia tidak lantas melakukan hal yang serupa. Kalau suatu waktu, kita diberi kemampuan untuk membantu teman yang sedang kesulitan keuangan, hilangkan pemikiran bahwa dia juga harus melakukan hal sama untuk kita di kemudian hari. Kebaikan kita tidak mesti kembali dari orang yang sama atau dalam bentuk sama. Ketika kita membantu seorang teman, mungkin saja saudara, tetangga atau teman yang lain hadir di kala kita membutuhkan pertolongan. Bisa juga tanpa kita sadari, selamat dari sebuah kecelakaan atau terhindar dari musibah, menjadi sebuah karma baik karena berbuat baik kepada seseorang. Tidak perlu merasa berjasa “Kamu enggak akan bisa sesukses ini kalau aku enggak bantu skripsi kamu waktu itu.” Mari kita hindari ucapan-ucapan seperti ini. Penting bagi kita untuk menjaga diri dari mengungkit-ungkit kebaikan kita kepada seseorang. Kita tidak jadi mulia dengan menampakkan kebaikan yang telah kita lakukan, apalagi jika sampai mempermalukan orang yang kita bantu. Ketika kita diberi kesempatan untuk turut andil dalam membantu kesuksesan atau kelancaran urusan seseorang, percayalah bahwa itu merupakan satu dari cara Tuhan untuk membantu orang tersebut. Tuhan pula yang menghendaki jalan pertolongan-Nya kepada seseorang, bisa melalui kita atau orang lain. Karenanya, kita tak perlu merasa bahwa kita telah berjasa kepadanya. Lupakan ide menggunakan kebaikan kita untuk “mengikat“ seseorang dengan dalih hutang budi. Berbuatlah sebanyak-banyaknya kebaikan, lalu lupakan Tentunya, prinsip ini membutuhkan latihan, proses dan kesabaran. Namun, sungguh, prinsip inilah yang membuahkan kebahagiaan sejati dari memberi, berbuat dan berbagi kebaikan. Biarlah perbuatan baik yang kita lakukan terlepas dari pemikiran dan penyebab lunturnya ketulusan hati kita, baik yang berasal dari diri kita sendiri, orang yang kita bantu, maupun dari orang lain di sekitar kita.
